Admissions & Enrolment
The Admissions Policy explains the process through which prospective students apply and are considered for admission to Immanuel programmes. Applicants are required to provide the information and supporting documentation requested during the enrolment process. Depending on the programme and circumstances, Immanuel may review previous education, experience and other relevant information and may conduct an admissions interview. Final admission and programme access are subject to the requirements and procedures of Immanuel. Students will receive further instructions regarding registration, student numbers and access to their programme following the admissions process.
1. Purpose
The Admissions Policy sets out the general requirements and process for individuals wishing to enrol for a programme at Immanuel Theology Educational Institute International.
Immanuel is a Pentecostal and Charismatic Christian faith-based theological training institution providing training through campus, satellite and online/E-School study options.
2. Who May Apply
Immanuel’s programmes are open to individuals who wish to develop their knowledge and understanding of God, Christianity, Christian theology and ministry.
The 2026 Prospectus states that training programmes are available to applicants from 13 years of age and older. The Institute accommodates school learners, college and university students, adults and persons with different learning needs.
3. Diploma Programme Admission
According to the 2026 Prospectus, no prior academic qualification is required for entry into the Diploma programme, other than the stated Christian faith requirements of Immanuel.
Applicants may therefore apply for Diploma-level theological and ministry training without necessarily having completed previous theological studies.
4. Degree Programme Admission
Students wishing to progress into the degree programmes are required to meet the applicable academic requirements for the level of study.
The Prospectus states that completion of the Diploma programme enables students to progress into the “One Degree per Year” programme, beginning with the Bachelor Degree in Theology and progressing through the Master’s and doctoral levels.
Where qualifications are required for a particular programme, applicants may be asked to provide copies of their previous qualifications.
5. Recognition of Prior Learning
Immanuel recognises that many Christian leaders have gained theological knowledge and practical ministry experience through church-based training and ministry service.
The Institute provides Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for eligible applicants with previous theological study and practical ministry experience.
Applicants seeking RPL may be required to submit a personal CV, certified copies of training certificates and proof of service as a Pastor, Bishop or Church Leader for evaluation.
6. International Applicants
Immanuel accepts students from outside South Africa and provides distance-learning opportunities through its Internet and E-School programmes.
International applicants may be required to provide certified copies of original qualifications where qualifications are required for their chosen programme.
The 2026 Prospectus also states that Immanuel can assist students seeking student visas where applicable and where the student has a valid passport.
7. Application and Enrolment
Applicants are required to complete the Immanuel enrolment process and provide the information and supporting documentation requested by the Institute.
Students may enrol through the Internet, and Immanuel provides online/E-School training for distance learners around the world.
Applicants may also be required to participate in an admissions process or interview where Immanuel considers this necessary.
8. Registration
Students who are accepted for study will be registered with Immanuel and provided with the appropriate registration or student identification information.
The 2026 Prospectus states that students must enrol through the Immanuel web page for registration and that a unique registration number is provided for access to study material.
9. Supporting Documentation
Depending on the programme and circumstances, applicants may be requested to provide supporting documentation including:
- Identification document or passport
- Previous academic or theological qualifications
- Curriculum Vitae
- Evidence of ministry experience
- Evidence required for Recognition of Prior Learning
- Other documentation reasonably required by Immanuel
Applicants are responsible for ensuring that information supplied during the admissions process is accurate and complete.
10. Admission Decision
Submission of an application does not automatically guarantee admission to a specific programme.
Immanuel reserves the right to review an applicant’s information, qualifications, previous studies, experience and other relevant circumstances before confirming admission.
Where an interview or additional information is required, the applicant will be contacted by Immanuel.
11. Payment and Commencement of Studies
Students are required to pay the applicable registration and programme fees in accordance with the payment arrangements communicated by Immanuel.
The 2026 Prospectus states that payments must reflect in the Immanuel account before lectures are released and that students must pay the necessary registration fee and applicable initial study fees before commencing the training programme.
12. Online and Distance Learning
Students may undertake their studies through Immanuel’s Internet/E-School learning environment.
The Prospectus states that students may study from home or in groups, using Internet-based and electronic learning resources, and may work according to their own time and pace.
Immanuel provides support to long-distance learners through Internet and electronic media. Students may receive study programmes electronically and submit tests and assignments electronically where applicable.
13. Admission of Students with Different Learning Needs
Immanuel’s 2026 Prospectus states that its training programmes accommodate persons with different learning needs, including persons with learning disabilities, autism, visual or communication disabilities, victims of abuse and former substance-abuse victims.
Immanuel will seek to provide reasonable support within the capabilities of its learning environment and available resources.
14. Accuracy of Information
Applicants must provide truthful and accurate information during the application and enrolment process.
Providing false, misleading or materially incomplete information may affect an applicant’s admission or continued registration with Immanuel.
