Statement of Faith

Immanuel's Statement of Faith sets out the Christian theological beliefs and principles upon which the Institute's teaching and ministry education are founded. It provides students with an understanding of the theological foundation of Immanuel and the perspective from which its programmes are presented. Students are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these beliefs before beginning their studies. The Statement of Faith forms an important part of the identity and educational environment of Immanuel. Applicants can review the full Statement of Faith before completing their enrolment.

Our Faith

Immanuel Theology Educational Institute International is a Pentecostal and Charismatic, Christ-Centred, Bible-based Christian theological training institution.

Our teaching is founded upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God. We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, God with us — Immanuel — and the foundation of our faith, salvation and Christian ministry.

1. We Believe in One God

We believe that there is One God, the Creator and Almighty God, who has revealed Himself throughout Scripture.

We believe in the Oneness of God and that Jesus Christ is the revelation of God manifested in the flesh.

We believe that Jesus Christ and the Father are One, according to the teaching of Scripture.

2. We Believe in Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, Messiah, Creator and God with us — Immanuel.

We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, manifested God in the flesh, died on the Cross at Calvary and rose again.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the true God and eternal life and that He is the centre of the Gospel and the Christian faith.

3. We Believe in the Word of God

We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God and the foundation of Christian faith and theological education.

Immanuel’s theological training is Bible-based and Christ-centred, with the Word of God forming the foundation of our teaching and ministry preparation.

4. We Believe in Salvation and Being Born Again

We believe that every person must be born again and become a child of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

We believe in confessing Jesus Christ as Lord and following the biblical pathway of repentance, faith and obedience to God.

We believe that Jesus Christ forgives sins and sets people free from spiritual and fleshly bondage.

5. We Believe in Water Baptism and the Holy Spirit

We believe in water baptism and baptism in the Holy Spirit as taught in Scripture.

We believe that the work of the Holy Spirit is essential to the life, spiritual development and ministry of the believer.

We believe that Christians are called to walk in the Spirit and to live according to the will and purpose of God.

6. We Believe in the Supernatural Power of God

We believe in the supernatural, miracle-working power of God and in the operation of the anointing of God.

As a Pentecostal and Charismatic training institution, we believe that the spiritual gifts and ministry of the Holy Spirit have an important place in the life and ministry of the Church.

7. We Believe in Christian Obedience and Holy Living

We believe that believers are called to obey the will of God and to live lives that reflect the character of Christ.

Christian faith is not merely a profession of belief, but a life of faith, obedience, spiritual growth and service to God.

We therefore encourage students and ministers to pursue Christian values, Christ-like conduct, humility, morality and spiritual maturity.

8. We Believe in the Ministry and Calling of God

We believe that God calls and appoints people to serve in His Kingdom.

We recognise the biblical ministry of the Five-Fold Ministry, including Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers.

Immanuel exists to train and equip Christian leaders for service in the Kingdom of God and for the practical application of God’s Word in ministry and society.

9. We Believe Jesus Christ is King and Judge

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Reigning King and Judge.

We believe that He is the Alpha and Omega and that all authority belongs to Him.

We believe in the eternal life found in Jesus Christ and look forward to the fulfilment of God’s eternal Kingdom.

10. Our Pentecostal and Charismatic Identity

Immanuel Theology Educational Institute International identifies as:

  • Pentecostal in doctrine
